How awesome am I?

VERY.

Ask me why.

Everyone: "Why?"

WELL, it's simple really. the story started four months ago at this restaurant. i don't wanna give a bad rep to this restaurant. so let's call this restaurant Cannot-Make-It (CMI). so, Amanda, Aaron and i went to CMI to get lunch. it wasn't my first time there. i always remembered that place for its great service and food as well. i will never forget my first burger there.

love at first bite i say.
mm..
mmm...
yummm...
oohh... mmm...

okay.

so, we entered CMI and to our disappointment, we got the worst service ever, horrible food and didn't go home happy. i mean, what kinda restaurant lets a customer find a seat for themselves, clear the table by themselves and get the menu by themselves too. well, that was another customer, not us. BUT we had a horrible waiter that day who could barely speak a word of English, did not ask for how we wanted our meat done and didn't even know how to serve food properly.

so i thought, "come on CMI. wtf just happened?"

i launched a complain. i was damn 'beh song' obviously. for the amount i paid at CMI, i could've gone to Victoria Station and eat two plates of their finest racks. i expected a lot especially when i had better dining experiences previously. they got back to me, saying sorry and all that. they offered me a meal voucher but i never went to collect it.

until yesterday that is.

Yu Shen and i have this summer pool thing that we do annually. first to 100 racks and loser treats the winner dinner. i lost this summer. couldn't make it 3 summers in a row :(. but a gentlemen's wager is a wager that must be fulfilled. he wanted CMI. and then i remembered, "OH! i have this meal voucher waiting for me there."

i contacted them and they said they have it ready for me. i was expecting something like 50 ringgit voucher or at the very most a 50% discount or something like that. the bill came up to 136 ringgit.

i asked for the manager, Mr. ABC cos obviously i'm getting a meal voucher from them.

and how often do you see a manager of the restaurant come up to you and..
  1. takes the bill away from you
  2. says, "i forgot to inform you sir that the voucher is 150 ringgit."
  3. and goes on to say, "so your bill hasn't reach 150 yet. i suggest you go for desserts. i recommend the tiramisu, chocolate mousse and the creme brulee."
  4. and to top it all off, he finished the conversation with a dashing, "don't worry sir. it's on me."
i'm sorry Mr. ABC. let's hear that again shall we. this time, a little clearer for my readers.

"DON'T WORRY SIR. IT'S ON ME."

best meal i had since the Phillipines. had a free buffet line there but that's another story. the desserts altogether turned up to be about 50 ringgit and that would have definitely been more than the meal voucher. BUT IT WAS ALL FREE.

moral of the story:
voice out your discomfort and disappointment whenever you're a customer of a restaurant, retail outlet or whatever it is. you might just get something good in return as compensation, like how i did.

so that leads us back to the initial question.

How awesome am I?

i'll end it the same way i started my entry.

VERY.
